Christmas Eve day was spent with Ashish's side of the family. One of the benefits of living on campus is having a lot of extra space at your disposal when the dorms are closed. So we spent the day in the lobby of the dorm where we live, cooking, watching movies, making phone calls to India, and enjoying each other's company. Ashish and I got turkeys this year as our Christmas bonus (frozen, not alive), so we enjoyed one of them for our Christmas dinner.
On Christmas morning we ventured over to Mom and Dad Penner's home for breakfast and for our gift exchange. It's been fun to see Priya's interest in some of the holiday's traditions evolve over the years. She is growing in her understanding of why we celebrate this special day and is increasingly eager to get involved in the gift giving process. She played Santa, distributing each of the gifts to their recipients and was kind enough to assist in the opening of every single gift. Did she ever have a great time!
