Gymnastics!

It's been quite a while since I've taken Priya to open gym gymnastics.  She is constantly trying to do head stands and cart wheels and is such a natural at this sport.  We are thinking about enrolling her in a class this summer.  One of the instructors observed her while we visited open gym recently and recommended that she skip the class for her age and go to a higher level class.  Priya was really encouraged by the compliment.

This was Josiah's first gymnastics visit.  He loved it!  It was so much fun to see him trying out the trampoline for the first time, jumping in the foam pit and climbing the rock wall (which he actually did to the top!).  He was a bit tentative at parts (which seems to be his personality), but he did great!  Here's a glimpse of our fun together.

Indiana/Ohio Trip - Part 1

I've been traveling around the Midwest for the past week.  The purpose of my trip was to attend and present at a conference at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana.  The conference was great, the presentation was a great experience and was helpful for a number of people and their institutions.  It was also a wonderful time to connect with some old friends.  At the conclusion of the conference I boarded a Greyhound bus in Indianapolis and headed east to Ohio to visit Joel, Emily, Ella, Jake and baby Caleb.  My time there was wonderful!  It was so great to catch up with Joel and Emily and to see their beautiful new home and the surrounding area.  It was a special opportunity to bond and to really connect with Ella and Jake and to spend some time getting to know my adorable, youngest nephew.  It was a precious time that I will forever cherish.

But despite the fun, it was really hard being away from my own kids and Ashish for a full week.  Hearing Priya express her jealousy over having seen photos of Ella and I on my last night in Ohio tugged on my heart strings.  I miss my babies dearly and can't wait to scoop them up in my arms later today and just hold them tight.  Mommy is coming home soon!

Until then, here's a glimpse of some of my time in Ohio...
