Easter 2011

We had a nice Easter this year (apart from Ashish and I being sick yet again).  It's been neat to see Priya's growing comprehension of what this holiday means as she gets older.  She has been going to a Christian preschool and has been enjoying one night a week at Awana's and is growing in her understanding of God's Word.  A few times a month she attends chapel at school, a time when the pastor of the church where the school is located speaks to the kids.  Priya often comes home pretending to be a pastor.  She'll ask us, "Who's the Light of the World?" in a deep, enthusiastic voice.  And then she'll shout, "JESUS!"  She was excited to be the pastor again this weekend and share with us about how "Jesus died for us because we do bad things like say 'stupid'.  And then he rose again!"  She has already asked Jesus into her heart at least 2x (once with me and once with her Auntie Ami).  :)

Josiah's 5 month milestones

Josiah is just shy of 5 1/2 months and is growing and developing like mad.  He is getting very closed to being able to sit up unassisted.  For now he's working on strengthening his core and loves to rock back and forth whenever he's in a seated position.  He's also taken quite an interest in toys and is starting to interact with them quite a bit.

 

Josiah loves to laugh.  Very frequently Josiah and I find ourselves cracking each other up during play time.  These are some of the times that I miss the most when I'm at work.

 

Josiah rolled over for the first time on Saturday, April 23!!  He's done the tummy to back roll a couple more times since that day.  Way to go, Josiah!

A Smorgasbord of Fun!

 

These were taken a while back when my parents were still in town.  We took a little trip to the Sundial Bridge one evening for a little stroll.  Priya decided it was time to strike a pose.

 

 

Josiah is, for the most part, an easy little guy to get to sleep.  One afternoon he passed out during play time.

Our weather has been extremely up and down lately.  A fun outdoor event was planned for a couple of weeks ago including a dunk tank and other water activities.  But the weather decided to throw us a curve ball once again.  That didn't stop Miss Priya from joining in the fun.  Before we knew it, she'd taken off her skirt and jumped in the pool!  Fortunately that didn't last too long.

The kids have been incredibly blessed to enjoy some great quality time with their Ami Fui (Auntie).  Priya and Ami are two peas in a pod and are SO much alike it's mind boggling!

Snuggle time is a special tradition in the Christian household.  We had another wave of illness sweep through our house again recently.  In the photo below, Ashish was home sick and Priya wanted to spend some quality time with him, so they watched Disney Princess videos on YouTube and snuggled together.  Precious!

A new nephew!!

We just got word from India that we have a new nephew!!!  Jeremy Arpit Christian was born to Arpit and Binal Thursday, April 14 (India time).  Josiah will have a male cousin just 5 months younger than him!  How lucky is he?!  Now if we can just find a way to get our families together...

Congratulations Arpit and Binal!!  We are so happy for you and can't wait to meet your little man!  We are praying for you!
