Our sweet girl broke two bones (the radius and the ulna) in her right arm on the evening of Friday, November 1, 2013. She
was at the play area in the mall. There is a shoe cubby area that she
had put her shoes on top of, rather than in the one of the cubbies. She
was climbing to get her shoes, lost her balance and fell. We took her to the ER at Shasta Regional where she braved a number of x-rays and then was eventually sedated
so they could do a reduction and put a splint her arm. It is a horrible thing to see your child in pain...
However, Priya's faith blessed us all as she kept asking me over and over (and over and over and over) to pray for her - starting from when we picked her up at the mall after her accident, while we were driving in the car, sitting in the waiting room of the ER, getting x-rays, being observed by nurses and doctors, before being sedated and again when she woke up. And it has continued in the week and 2 days since the accident. Priya struggled with sleep so she slept with me for about a week after her injury. Most nights she would wake up crying from feeling "scratchy" or being in pain and would ask me to pray for her. It was a pretty special time to hold her in my arms and watch her fall asleep as I prayed aloud for her. I love that she is looking to Jesus to be her source of comfort, strength and healing through a scary and challenging time in her life.
Back at home and feeling a bit better
A surprise visit from Priya's best buddy, Savanah brought so much life and joy to Priya on Sunday!!! Savanah brought her some beautiful roses and made a picture for her that is hanging on our fridge.
Starting to feel yucky again after Savanah left... :(
Another special visitor brought more joy and sunshine into Priya (and Josiah's!) day! Karen Smith, a friend from work, stopped by with balloons and an amazing bag filled with books, stickers, and activity books to keep Priya busy for quite a while. She even brought a book for Josiah that he went crazy over!
